Why Preparation Helps
A professional cleaner arrives with a clear goal — to clean your apartment as thoroughly as possible within the allotted time. Every minute spent moving a pile of clothes or washing dishes that did not need to be there is a minute taken away from actual cleaning. In our experience, simple preparation increases cleaning efficiency by 25–30%.
Step 1: Clear Personal Items from Surfaces
Tables, windowsills, and kitchen countertops full of small items slow down the work. The cleaner must carefully lift each object, wipe underneath, and put it back. The freer the surfaces, the faster and more thorough the clean. Simply move things into a basket or cupboard.
Step 2: Wash or Put Away Dishes
A full sink is one of the most common "slowdowns." The cleaner either works around the dishes or washes them — and that is time that could have been spent on floors and bathrooms. Just start the dishwasher or load everything into it.
Step 3: Pick Up Clothes from Floors and Furniture
Scattered clothing on chairs, beds, and floors prevents effective vacuuming and dusting. Toss dirty laundry in the hamper, put clean clothes in the wardrobe. It takes 5 minutes but saves 15.
Step 4: Secure Your Pets
No need to cage them, but make sure they will not interfere with the work or feel stressed. Ideally, keep them in one room that the cleaner will do last.
Step 5: Point Out Sensitive Areas
Have an expensive rug that requires special care? Allergy to certain products? A surface that must not get wet? Mention it in advance — save yourself worry and the cleaner uncertainty.
Step 6: Ensure Access to All Rooms
A locked room, blocked balcony, or inaccessible storage — these are places the cleaner would love to tackle but cannot without access. Unlock everything that should be part of the cleaning.
Step 7: Take Out the Rubbish
A full bin in the kitchen and bathroom takes extra time. If you can take it out before the cleaner arrives, great. If not, at least have fresh bags ready.
Step 8: Share Your Priorities
What matters most to you? The bathroom? Kitchen? Window sills? A quick message beforehand (or in the BeeClean app) helps the cleaner plan time according to your priorities.
The Result
These 8 steps take a maximum of 15 minutes but significantly improve the cleaning outcome. The cleaner can focus on what they do best — professional cleaning. And you will return to an apartment that smells of freshness.
